- Write direct, quotable answers near the top of a section — a sentence that stands alone without needing the paragraph before it for context.
- Use clear entity names consistently (your company name, product name, category) rather than pronouns or vague references, since extraction works better on unambiguous text.
- Structure comparisons and data in actual tables, not prose — passage extraction favors structured, parseable content.
- Keep facts current and dated; several answer engines weight freshness heavily in retrieval, more so than Google's core ranking does for evergreen queries.
- Build genuine topical depth on a subject rather than one-off posts, since entity authority in a subject area affects whether your domain gets treated as a trustworthy retrieval source at all.
