The Best SEO Agencies for Law Firms in India (2026)

Tikbo Team·· 8 min read

Most "best agency" lists for law firms are written for American attorneys, where a firm can buy billboards, run testimonial ads and promise results. None of that transfers to India. Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules bars advocates from soliciting work or advertising, and in July 2026 the BCI extended that thinking to social media. An agency that does not understand this is not a cheaper option for an Indian firm. It is a liability.

So this list is judged on the things that actually separate agencies for Indian law firms, not on who has the most awards.

Disclosure. Tikbo publishes this article and is one of the five agencies on it. We have tried to make that matter as little as possible: every claim about another agency below comes from what that agency publishes about itself, linked, and we say so where we could not verify something. Read it with that in mind, and check anything that matters to your decision directly with the agency.

Key takeaways

  • For an Indian law firm, Bar Council awareness is not a nice-to-have. It decides what an agency is even allowed to do for you.
  • A legal-only agency and a generalist with a legal practice are both valid. What matters is whether they have done legal work you can inspect.
  • Be wary of any pitch built on guaranteed rankings, client testimonials or review drives. Those are the tactics Rule 36 rules out.
  • Local search does most of the work for a firm with one or two offices. Ask how an agency handles Google Business Profile and legal directories before you ask about content.
  • AI assistants now answer a meaningful share of "do I need a lawyer for this" questions. Ask whether the agency has a view on being cited in those answers, not only ranked.

How we chose

We started from agencies that publish a dedicated law-firm SEO offering aimed at Indian firms, then applied five tests, all of them things a managing partner can check in an afternoon:

  • Legal focus. Is legal a real practice for them, with its own page and its own thinking, or a line in a list of forty industries?
  • Bar Council awareness. Do they address Rule 36 in their own material? An agency that never mentions it has either not thought about it or would rather you did not.
  • Published legal work. Can you read about law-firm work they have done, with enough detail to judge it?
  • Local search. Do they treat Google Business Profile, citations and legal directories as core work rather than an add-on?
  • Clarity. Is it clear where they are, who runs the work and what you would actually be buying?

We did not audit any agency's client results, and we have not been a client of any of them. Where an agency publishes figures, we report them as their figures.

1. Tikbo

Tikbo is an SEO, GEO and AEO agency with offices in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Legal is one of the sectors we have gone deepest on, and our position is that Rule 36 is less of a cage than it looks: nearly everything it prohibits is also the low-quality end of legal marketing, and what it permits - accurate information about who you are, and genuinely useful explanation of the law - is exactly what search engines and AI assistants reward.

The work we can point to: a law firm with offices in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, where the original office was strong and the other three were close to invisible in local search. We scoped it as four different problems rather than one playbook applied four times. Our published law-firm results include a first position in local search for "corporate lawyer in Mumbai", with ten further legal terms in the top three, all organic, with no paid promotion.

Where we differ from most of this list is AI search. We publish original research on how machines read websites - including the India E-commerce GEO Index, an audit of more than twenty thousand Indian sites - and we build legal pages to be quoted by assistants, not only ranked.

Worth knowing: we are not a legal-only agency. If you want a team that works with nobody but lawyers, LexGrow or Ghostline Legal is the closer fit.

2. LexGrow

LexGrow is based in Ahmedabad and works exclusively with lawyers and law firms, which it says it serves across more than a hundred Indian cities. Its client base, as it describes it, spans practice areas from divorce and criminal law to property, corporate and civil litigation.

The service list is the closest on this list to a complete legal visibility stack: SEO, local SEO and Google Business Profile, GEO and AEO for AI search, social media, YouTube for lawyers, and website development. It describes its approach as "100% organic" and "fully BCI-aware", and gives away a BCI-aware Google Business Profile checklist.

It also publishes results on its homepage: a solo lawyer in the top three within 45 days, three times more calls from Google Maps, an average organic traffic lift of 200%, and first, second and third positions for divorce, property and criminal terms in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai respectively. Those are LexGrow's figures, not ours.

Worth knowing: it does not publish a founding year, team or pricing on its homepage, so ask who would actually run your account and what a typical engagement costs.

3. Ghostline Legal

Ghostline Legal is based in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, and works exclusively in the legal sector. Its client list, by its own description, runs from law firms and practising advocates to litigation chambers, law schools, legal tech companies and legal consulting firms.

The service list is broader than SEO: website development, legal design, legal content and blogging, publication advisory, search engine optimisation and social media management. The publication advisory is unusual and worth noting for firms whose partners write - bylined articles in legal publications are one of the few forms of visibility Rule 36 comfortably permits.

On compliance, Ghostline says it "works strictly within BCI guidelines". It states it is MSME-registered and ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Worth knowing: it does not publish a founding year or law-firm case figures on its homepage, so ask for examples of SEO outcomes specifically, as distinct from design and content work.

4. Madsun Media

Madsun Media is based in Ludhiana and runs legal as a named industry vertical, covering advocates, solicitors and law firms from solo practitioners to multi-advocate firms, across family, criminal, property, consumer, corporate, IP, labour and immigration law.

Its legal offer combines local SEO, content such as legal guides and FAQs, websites and landing pages, reputation management and reporting, alongside Google Ads. It says every ad and piece of content it writes "is reviewed against Bar Council of India advertising guidelines".

Like LexGrow, it publishes law-firm figures: for a multi-practice firm in Delhi NCR it reports a 220% increase in client enquiries, a cost of ₹420 per qualified lead, and a Google rating of 4.8 with reviews growing from 6 to 44. Those are Madsun's figures, not ours.

Worth knowing: if paid search is part of what you are considering, ask them to walk you through exactly how it squares with Rule 36. It is the first question your State Bar Council would ask, and a good agency will have a considered answer ready.

5. Techpullers

Techpullers is based at Infopark in Kakkanad, Kochi, and offers a dedicated SEO service for lawyers covering family, criminal, civil, corporate and immigration practices, for single-office and multi-city firms alike.

Its law-firm service reads as the most technically minded on this list: technical SEO for crawling, speed and site structure, legal keyword mapping, on-page and internal linking work, conversion and landing-page optimisation, Google Business Profile work and link building. Its legal material also points readers to what an Indian advocate can and cannot do under Rule 36.

Worth knowing: the law-firm page references client work but does not publish figures for it. Ask to see before-and-after data from a legal client.

How to choose between them

The honest answer is that the right agency depends less on who is "best" than on what is actually holding your firm back.

  • One or two offices, thin online presence: start with local search. Your Google Business Profile and legal directory listings will bring more first calls than your website will. We wrote a plan for exactly this in SEO for a two-partner law firm.
  • Several cities: treat each office as its own local problem. Our guide to multi-city local SEO for law firms covers why the newest offices inherit none of the trust the first one built.
  • A slow or broken website: technical work first, content second. There is no point publishing into a site that search engines struggle to read.
  • Partners who write: favour an agency that can place and structure that writing, because it is the most Rule 36-safe visibility there is.

Five questions to ask any agency

  1. What will you not do for us because of Rule 36? A good agency answers this immediately. A weak one changes the subject.
  2. Can we see legal work you have done, with numbers, and speak to that client?
  3. Who writes our practice-area pages, and who checks them for legal accuracy?
  4. How do you handle reviews, given that soliciting them is off-limits?
  5. If we leave, do we keep the website, the Google Business Profile and the content? The answer should be yes to all three.
Red flags. Guaranteed rankings. "Best lawyer in the city" copy. Client testimonials on your site. Paid review drives. Any of these should end the conversation, whichever agency is offering it.

We are a marketing firm, not your counsel, and enforcement of Rule 36 sits with State Bar Councils. Confirm anything compliance-related with yours before you act on it.

Next step

Tell us your practice areas and your cities. We will tell you honestly where there is room to rank, and where the category is already taken.
